The Punjab government has issued directions for markets and commercial activities in six districts to remain closed on Friday and Saturday, instead of Saturday and Sunday as had been previously ordered.
The change in schedule will be applicable in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Chiniot, Khanewal and Dera Ghazi Khan, according to a notification issued by the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.
The decision has been taken to accommodate "local customs and demand of local traders", according to the notification.
