LIBRARIES have a significant status in developed societies throughout the world, for they contribute to socio-politico-economic development of the nations.

We are already way behind the rest of the world as most of our young population cannot avail such facilities in their respective hometowns. To seek knowledge, they head towards more urbanised areas.

The Quaid-i-Azam Library in Lahore, which is one of the leading libraries in the country, has played a key role in the past. A number of bureaucrats, lawyers, policymakers and experts in various fields have used this library. Unfortunately, it

is being used for photo-shoots by newlywed couples during operational hours these days. The authorities concerned must intervene and stop such activities which violate the sanctity of a library.
