People’s Square

Published February 27, 2021

THE Sindh government recently completed the People’s Square project which is a beautiful public area along with underground parking facility. But this parking facility has now become a nuisance and burden for a student like me. When the project started, there were no parking charges, but now they charge Rs100 per car and Rs50 per motorcycle. Ironically, even if you are not using the designated facility and parking along the roads close to the square, they charge the same fee.

I am student of S.M. Law College which is located in the vicinity. And under the current arrangement my daily commute to the college on my motorcycle means an additional and irritating expenditure of at least Rs50 per day.

I request the government to at least spare the students as they cannot afford to dish out such a sum every day.
