KARACHI: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has abruptly shown the door to administration trio of its camp office at Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium citing financial crunch, Dawn has learnt on Friday.

The trio includes director administration Waseeq Ahmed, director projects Olympian Iftikhar Syed and director operation and coordination retired Col Saif-ur-Rehman.

Former Customs inside left Waseeq, who attended national camp in 1963-64, served for six years. He is a former graduate of Government College Lahore and former Prime Minister and ex-PHF president Zafarullah Jamali had played under his captaincy.

Iftikhar Syed, a former Habib Bank employee, had served the PHF for 16-17 years. Col Saif remained associated with the PHF for about three years.

The PHF has appointed non tecnocrat Mohammad Junaid as new director administration. According to PHF, Junaid will work honorary.
