ISLAMABAD: Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) has constituted a committee to probe selling of application forms of students to a junkyard dealer.

“I have formed an inquiry committee to probe the matter,” QAU Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammad Ali told Dawn, adding that forms circulating on social media do not belong to former and current students but to those who had applied for admissions but could not make it.

However, he said, even then these forms should not have been throw away or sold off in this manner.

“The inquiry committee will fix this responsibly and then I will take action,” he added.

The university preserves records of enrolled students for 10 years, the VC said, adding that senior professor Dr Tasawar Hayat will head the committee.

This matter was highlighted on social media.

“This is negligence. The matter should be properly probed to fix responsibly as because of this issue, the country’s top ranked university faced embarrassment on social media,” he added.
