KARACHI: Skipper Touheed Khan starred with the ball as Rangoonwala CC whipped Arham CC by 78 runs to clinch second Champions Trophy T20 title here at the Quaid e Azam Park Cricket Stadium in Pakistan Steel Township on Sunday.
Put into bat in the final, Rangoonwala rattled up 190-6 with Arif Khan smashing an unbeaten 67 off 39 balls (six sixes and five fours) and opener Fazal Subhan a 38-ball 63 (six boundaries and three sixes).
Arham CC, in reply, were bundled out for 112 in 18 overs. Touheed grabbed five wickets for 28 runs with his slow left-armers in a man-of-the-match performance.
Jawaid Hamid, CEO of Al-Hamid Engineering, General Secretary of PTI Bin Qasim Town Umair Shahid were the chief guests on the occasion at the presentation ceremony which also attended by event’s chief organiser Atiq Ahmed and Affan Zafar Faruqi among others and others.
Rangoonwala received the winners’ trophy and cash award of Rs70,000 and Arham CC collected the runners-up and Rs40,000. Among individual awards’ winners, Touheed was declared best bowler, Arham CC’s Umair Bin Yousuf and Mohammad Afzal of Rangoonwala shared the best batsman prize.
