KARACHI, Oct 12: A Sindh High Court appellate bench dismissed a TV channel’s appeal against the order of a single judge alleging infringement of copyright.

‘Geo’ alleged that the late night show ‘Begum Nawazish Ali’ being transmitted by ‘Aaj’ was based on a script written by actor Ali Salim for it. The plea was dismissed by Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaferi, who held that the show rightfully belonged to the channel ‘Aaj’.

An appeal against the judge’s order was dismissed by a division bench, comprising Justices Mushir Alam and Syed Zawwar Hussain Jaffery. Advocate Shakeel Ahmed represented the appellant and Advocates Abid S. Zuberi and Sajjad Ali Shah the respondents.
