Infant found dead

OKARA: Police claimed on Sunday to have recovered the body of an infant girl 11 days after she went missing from outside her house at Safdar Ghafoor area in the city suburbs.

Police sent the body for postmortem and swabs for chemical examination to Lahore to ascertain the cause of death.

Zainab was playing in the street when some people appeared in a car and abducted her at Safdar Ghafoor Town on Feb 9 last. The Saddar police registered a case under sections 363 of the PPC on the report of her mother Asima Kiran. Police found her body and immediately sent it for postmortem.

DPO Faisal Shahzad took notice of the incident and Saddar circle DSP Ziaul Haq reached the area. He said the family suspected the involvement of Hasan, Manzoor and Liaquat in the incident.

MURDERED: A man was murdered over the issue of a disputed wall at village 40/GD.

Rashid, Jameel and Pervaiz had dispute with Liaquat over construction of a wall. Liaquat stopped Rashid from starting construction and the latter, along with accomplices, hit Liaquat with bricks and killed him.
