SWABI: The administration of Women University Swabi has terminated the services of two more employees over indiscipline, sources said here on Friday. The action came about a week after two female employees were sacked in a similar fashion.

Sources in the university said the newly-terminated employees included an assistant registrar and additional registrar. They said termination letters were issued to them late on Thursday to avoid any reaction.

A copy of one of the termination letters made available to this correspondent says: “On the recommendations of special inquiry committee and consequent upon the approval by a competent authority your services are hereby terminated with immediate effect from the post of additional registrar of women university, Swabi, in accordance with clause 3 (b) of your service contract agreement.”

The letters have been issued with the signatures of the university registrar Rizwan Ahmad.

The sources said the action was taken two days after the VC talked on phone with the chancellor and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor to discuss issues of the university.

When contacted, an official of the university said the sacked employees were involved in propaganda of provincialism and targeting the VC and a few faculty members who came from other provinces to serve the university.

He claimed that the assistant registrar was earlier transferred from her section to another section in Oct 2020, but she had refused to follow the VC’s directives.

However, the sacked additional registrar claimed in his reaction that the VC was involved in illegal appointments and malpractices and she wanted to divert attention of high-ups from the complaints lodged against her.
