LAHORE: A man and a woman were killed in two separate incidents in the city on Sunday.
A young woman was shot dead for allegedly refusing a marriage proposal in Islampura on Sunday. Police said Sobia, 25, was at home in Sant Nagar when a relative, Kashif, reached there.
The two had an argument during which Kashif got enraged over Sobia’s refusal of his marriage proposal. Kashif pulled out a gun and allegedly shot Sobia dead and fled away.
Police shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy, registered a case and started an investigation.
In another incident, a man was shot dead allegedly by his wife in Gulshan-i-Ravi. Police claimed that Jamshaid, 32, was found dead by his family on Sunday afternoon. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and started an investigation.
They later took the man’s wife into custody, who allegedly confessed to the crime over a family dispute.
SUICIDE: A trader is said to have died by suicide after shooting himself in the head in Gulshan-i-Ravi on Sunday.
Police said Amir Qureshi, the vice president of Shahalam Market, had developed some differences with his two wives. On Sunday, he allegedly purchased his coffin, went to his house and shot himself dead after a dispute with the wives.
Police shifted the body to the morgue for autopsy and started an investigation.
