HARIPUR: The University of Haripur’s 22nd Syndicate meeting on Saturday appointed 14 teachers and promoted three on the recommendations of the 16th Selection Board.

According to a press release issued by the registrar office, Vice-Chancellor Prof Anwar Gilani chaired the meeting.

The Selection Board that met on Feb 5.

The newly-appointed teachers included a professor, two associate professors, additional provost, additional director Quality Enhancement Cell, two deputy registrars, deputy treasurer, three assistant registrars, an assistant controller and two lecturers. The meeting also approved promotions of two associate professors and an additional registrar.

STUDENT’S KILLER ARRESTED: The police obtained on Saturday two-day physical remand of the alleged killer of a former nazim’s son.

Zohaib Shah Mashwani, 17, a student of the University of Haripur, and son of former UC nazim Sanaullah Shah, was gunned down by Shoaib outside his house on Jan 26, according to the FIR registered with Kotnajibullah police station.

The police claim to have arrested the accused from Punjab and produced him before the court of judicial magistrate on Saturday.
