Man arrested for abducting three children

SHANGLA: Police here have arrested a man for ‘abducting’ three small children of a rival family over personal enmity and keeping them in his house for the entire day in Dandai area of Bisham tehsil.

Assistant commissioner, Bisham, told mediapersons here on Tuesday that one Said Alam had abducted three children of the rival family due to personal enmity in Dandai area and kept them at his house for the whole day.

The police later recovered the children and arrested the suspect Said Alam. They said that they had lodged an FIR against the suspect under section 342/37 of Child Protection Act. They police said the children aged 2-3 years had been kept in a room.

NON-LOCALS’ APPOINTMENT: The management of Khan Khwar hydropower project in Bisham, Shangla, has appointed three class-IV employees from outside the district.

An order copy number 21876-77, obtained by this correspondent through the right to information rule, said that three of the 15 class-IV employees were non-locals belonging to Mardan district.

Social activists have condemned the appointment of class-IV employees from the other district in Shangla, saying people here are living below poverty line and working as coal miners due to lack of job opportunities.
