MULTAN: A senior psychiatrist committed suicide after killing his married daughter over a domestic issue here on Friday.

The psychiatrist was identified as Dr Azhar Hussain, a resident of Hameed Colony, while his daughter was as Dr Alizey Haidar. He used the same weapon to commit suicide with which he had killed his daughter. He was 66 and his daughter was 35.

Dr Hussain retired as a professor from the Nishtar Hospital and was running a private clinic after his retirement. His family told police that he had killed his daughter over a domestic matter.

It also claimed that Dr Hussain himself was also suffering from mental illness for the last couple of months.

Alizey was also a doctor and she was doing the FCPS from the Nishtar Medical University while her husband was serving as a doctor at the Nishtar Hospital. According to some media reports, she was the only daughter of Dr Hussain and a mother of three children.
