KHUZDAR: Eight people, including three women, two girls and two Levies Force officials, were killed and 22 others injured when a speeding passenger coach overtur­ned in the Bela area of Lasbe­­la district on Wednesday.

According to police, the driver of the Karachi-bound coach coming from Panjgur lost control of the vehicle near Bela town and it overturned after hitting a checkpost of the Levies Force.

The accident left eight people dead on the spot, including two members of the Levies Force deployed at the post, and 22 passengers were injured.

Police and Levies personnel rushed to the area and launched rescue work with the help of rescue workers and shifted the bodies and the injured to Jam Ghulam Qadir District Hospital in Hub.
