ISLAMABAD: Two persons were killed in separate robberies in capital on Wednesday, police said.

In the first incident, two robbers tried to loot a truck, and parked along roadside in I-11/3 but the driver ran his vehicle away. According to details, the driver and his helper were sleeping in the truck when two persons came on a motorcycle and asked them to disembark from the vehicle.

However, the driver managed to start the engine and sped his vehicle away, the police said, adding that the robbers chased the vehicle and fired on it.

As a result the helper suffered a bullet injury, but the driver succeeded in taking the truck to a nearby filling station where police reached and shifted the helper to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In a similar incident, robbers tried to intercept a truck in Shams Colony but the driver tried to speed his vehicle away.

The robbers chased the vehicle and opened fire on it, killing the driver.
