SUKKUR: Police on Wednesday registered an FIR on behalf of the state against the suspects believed to be involved in the double murder of a pesh imam and a young girl whose trussed-up bodies were recovered from hastily dug graves in Adam Khan Jakhrani village near Tangwani town a day before.
The case was lodged at Bhitai police station on a complaint of head constable Hamal Khan against Sher Mohammad Jakhrani, Adam Jakhrani and Mehar Gul Jakhrani.
Police claimed to have arrested the prime suspect Sher Mohammad Jakhrani along with the weapon used in the crime while two other suspects were yet to be arrested.
On Tuesday, the trussed-up bodies of the prayer leader Asghar Ali Bambal and the girl Fehmida Jakhrani were found after hours-long search by police and villagers. The suspect had taken away the bodies after shooting the pair dead and later buried them in a deserted place outside the village.
The villagers said that Sher Mohammad suspected the prayer leader of having an affair with the girl. Jakhrani fired a flurry of shots at the victims and then fired in the air to scare away people and take away the bodies, they said.
