22 Mansehra TMA officials test positive for Covid

MANSEHRA: As many as 22 employees of tehsil municipal administration, three of them of officer rank, tested positive for Covid-19 here on Friday.

The health department confirmed that Covid-19 screening of as many as 105 employees of tehsil municipal administration, Mansehra, was carried out by it and 22 of them had tested positive for the virus.

“We have also started screening of the family members of all the infected employees for Covid-19,” the health officials told mediapersons.

The tehsil municipal officer also ordered the infected employees to undergo self-quarantine at their respective residences until they tested negative.

Meanwhile, assistant commissioners of Mansehra and Oghi sealed hotels and fined beauty parlours who defied the precautionary measures set by the government to contain spread of Covid-19.

The assistant commissioner, Mansehra, Javed Sardar Marwat warned hoteliers to strictly follow the SOPs set by the government for the hospitality industry.

Additional assistant commissioner Sundus Arshad Malik paid a visit to beauty parlours in the city and its suburbs and fined those not following the safety rules.

Assistant commissioner, Oghi, Zainab Ahmad Cheema sealed over a dozen hotels in Oghi and Darband.

The president of hoteliers association in Oghi, Mushtaq Ahmad demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to allow them to continue their business activities.

“We have been following the SOPs and there is no rush of customers at our hotels,” he said.
