ISLAMABAD: All seeds progressed through to next round as 21 matches were decided on the opening day of the second leg of General Tyre ITF J5 Junior Tennis Championship at PTF the Complex here on Monday.

However, local player Mahatir Mohammad Khan was upstaged by Russia’s Ruslan Serazhetdinov, who sealed a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 win in a match lasting one hour and 45 minutes.

In another well-contested encounter, Pakistan’s Subhan bin Salik lost in three sets against Aki Zuban Rawat of Nepal.

In the girls’ singles, Maleeha Khalid defeated Shiza Sajid on her international debut.
