RAWALPINDI: A teenage boy was shot dead in the jurisdiction of New Town police while another teenager was stabbed to death over a petty issue in Pirwadhai on Sunday.

Mohammad Adeel, 15, a resident of Asghar Mall, was on his way home when unidentified motorcycle riders shot him dead and escaped near Katarian market. The motive behind the murder is not known.

Mir Waiz Sharifi, a resident of Pirwadhai, informed police that his son Ali Sajjad, 13, was playing in the street with other boys when he quarreled with one of them. The suspect pulled out a dagger and stabbed Sajjad. The injured passed away while being shifted to hospital.

Separately, an 11-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a man in Khayaban-i-Sir Syed, police said.

The boy’s father informed Pirwadhai police that his son had gone to a nearby shop to buy sweets. The family went out looking for him after he did not return for a long time and found him screaming along with the suspect in an under-construction building.

The suspect was caught and handed over to the police, who shifted him and the victim to hospital for medical examination which led to registration of an FIR.
