The administrations of several districts in Karachi have imposed 'smart' lockdowns and micro smart lockdowns in various localities for a minimum of two weeks to stem a rise in coronavirus cases. The movement of the residents of the following areas will be restricted and they will not be allowed to hold gatherings in homes:

  • South district: Three streets of DHA and one in Bath Island to remain under lockdown until active cases come down to zero.
  • West district: Two areas in Surjani Town and Gulshan-i-Maymar to go under lockdown from Nov 22 to Dec 5.
  • Korangi district: Several houses in UC-02 Nasir Colony, UC-07 Al Falah and UC-01 Model Colony to remain under lockdown from Nov 21 to Dec 5.
  • Central district: Numerous streets in various blocks of Gulberg, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad and New Karachi to remain under lockdown from Nov 20 to Dec 4.
