KARACHI: Defending champions Bahria Club clinched the Inverex Trophy basketball title at the Armabagh-Abdul Nasir court on Tuesday night outclassing Splash Club 55-33 in a brilliant display.

The main scorer and star of the day for the winners was Aun Akram who blasted 28 points and was well assisted by Bilal Khan (12 pts) and Zunair Ali (10 pts).

For the runner-up, the main scorers were Taimur Zaheer !2 pts) and Muzammil and Athar Rana with 10 points each.

Zunair was declared the Player of the Tournament.

POA Media Advisor Asif Azeem was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes among the players and the teams on behalf of Invrex CEO Zakir Ali.

In his speech, Asif lauded the organizers for the wonderful tournament and appreciated the high level of the game displayed by teams. He assured the KBBA of all cooperation from POA and Karachi Sport Foundation.

Asif also announced to sponsor a basketball event in January.

Earlier, KBBA president Ghulam Mohammad announced that the annual prize distribution ceremony of the association will held in December in a grand manner. Ahmar Siddiqui, Azmatullah Khan, Khurshid Alam, Abdul Nasir and others were also present on the occasion.
