Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani has said that the provincial government will have no other option but to impose a lockdown if Covid-19 cases continue to rise.

While addressing the media, he said that unless the public follows standard operating procedures, the government will have to shut down businesses and other activities.

"Even the first lockdown was not our favourite decision but we had to take that step because of the situation," he said. "The situation will force us, we will have to do something to curb the virus. The only way [to stop the spread] is to follow SOPs."
