DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Death toll from the rickshaw plunging into the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) reached 20 after the army and Rescue 1122 divers fished out 16 more bodies as search for the remaining three victims continued on the second day on Tuesday.

Izaz Mehmood, media coordinator of Rescue 1122, told Dawn that 16 more bodies were recovered from the canal after recovery of four bodies and rescue of as many on Monday. He said three children were still missing.

The rescue service spokesman said 27 people, most of them children and women, were onboard the loader rickshaw on way to Paroa tehsil to attend a wedding function when it plunged into CRBC near Jhangi village on Monday.
