LAHORE: In a bid to minimise the impact of “second wave” of the coronavirus in the country, the city administration on Wednesday sealed 35 shops and five restaurants for flouting Covid-19 SOPs in various parts of the metropolis.

According to a spokesman, Raiwind assistant commissioner sealed 20 shops, Model Town AC sealed 11 shops, while Cantonment AC sealed four shops and five restaurants over SOPs’ violation.

Sealing notices were also affixed on the premises shut down by the administration.

CASE: The city administration on Wednesday got a case registered against a woman health worker and his sons for intervening into the state affairs and threatening senior officials.

According to a spokesman, the officials reprimanded the health worker for showing negligence in the ant-polio drive. At this, the worker’s sons threatened the officials with dire consequences.

The administration also issued show-cause notices to nine more workers for being negligent of their duties in the anti-polio drive.

INSPECTION: The federal government inspector of railways and other senior officials completed inspection of the main and branch lines in the Lahore division, according to a spokesman.
