COVID-19 cases are on a rise and a second wave of the virus is expected to hit the country sooner rather than later. According to the National Command and Operations Centre authorities, both positivity and fatality rates are increasing at an alarming rate. In such worrisome circumstances, the holding of large public gatherings is like adding fuel to fire.

The opposition Pakistan Democratic Movement alliance is holding public rallies and gatherings these days and that can seriously add to the pandemic-related issues.

It was quite apparent that the public meetings held so far had no regard for the relevant SOPs. Such reckless behaviour by the opposition is asking for trouble and creating a health crisis in the country.
