BAHAWALNAGAR: A woman from Mcleod Ganj has demanded action against the alleged rapist of her teenage daughter.

The woman from Chak Saropa said a Mcleod Ganj Rural Health Centre official with his accomplice allegedly raped her daughter in the RHC on Aug 13. She alleged that after the incident, the influentials family members of the culprits and local panchait pressurized her to marry off her daughter with the alleged rapist.

According to police sources, the McLeod Ganj police came to know about the case when police visited the Mcleod Ganj RHC to investigate another case on August16. Sources said the police asked for the CCTV footage of the incident in writing.

When contacted, the McLeod Ganj police officials said they had received a written complaint from the complainant and action has been initiated on it.

The Mcleod Ganj RHC in charge said the police contacted them for the footage 15 days after the incident but the limit to save the CCTV footage had expired by then.
