KARACHI: Habib Bank Ltd on Friday announced profit after tax for 9MCY20 at Rs25.2 billion (earnings per share at Rs17.17), depicting a staggering year-on-year surge of 192 per cent.

The bank posted an impressive surge in its net interest income (NII) while also booking lower provisions sequentially. No dividend was announced as per the directives of the State Bank of Pakistan for capital conservation.

The bank’s NII settled at Rs98.8bn for 9MCY20, witnessing an increase of 33pc against the same period last year.

FrieslandCampina Engro reports Rs322m profit

FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (formerly Engro Foods Ltd) announced results for the nine months ended September 30, posting profit after tax amounting to Rs322 million and earning per share at Re0.42.

It represented a turnaround from loss after tax of Rs809m and loss per share of Rs1.05 recorded in the similar period of 2019.

FBR, BoRP sign MoU for data sharing

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Board of Revenue Punjab (BoRP) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding for data sharing.

Under the MoU, the BoRP will share e-stamps transactions and land ownership data with the FBR.

The FBR has been making consistent efforts to acquire third party data by linking its IT systems with such parties to broaden tax base and to improve the transparency in the collection system, said a press release.
