LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has arrested former Young Doctors Association (YDA) chairman Dr Muhammad Ajmal Javed on the charges of possessing a fake degree.

The ACE on Monday arrested Dr Ajmal, the additional medical superintendent of Lahore General Hospital, for possessing a fake degree of FSc.

It said Dr Ajmal took admission in Quaid-i-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur on a fake FSc degree. After three-year of his study there, a complaint was filed against him upon which the college administration expelled him. “Subsequently, he got admission in a medical college of Sindh through a fake NoC and completed his MBBS degree,” the FIR says.

The case has been registered against him under 420, 471 and 468 of Pakistan Penal Code.

Upon the directions of FIA Punjab Zone-II Director Hamayun Masood and Deputy Director Altaf Wattoo, an FIA team raided the whereabouts of notorious trafficker Dr. Anwarul Haq alias Javaid Iqbal in Bahawalpur and arrested him.
