HARIPUR: Three persons, including two brothers, were shot dead and two others sustained injuries when rival groups clashed in Doyan Aabi village over a land dispute here on Wednesday, police said.

Khalabat Township police officials said both the groups came across on the disputed piece of land near the Government Postgraduate College for Boys, and after arguments, traded fire. As a result, three persons died on the spot and two were injured critically.

The police reached the scene and shifted the bodies and the injured to the Haripur Trauma Centre. The dead were identified as Mohammad Afzal and his brother, Fazal Elahi, and Usman. The injured, Qasim Afzal and Kamran Afzal, were referred to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, in critical condition.
