ISLAMABAD: The Board of Governors (BoG) of the National University of Modern Languages (Numl) approved establishment of a campus in Rawalpindi.

Numl will conduct operations in the building of Army Public College of Management and Sciences (Apcoms) located on Khadim Road, Rawalpindi.

There was restriction of space at the main campus and with the establishment of another campus in Pindi, this issue will be resolved, a statement issued by the university stated after the board’s meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by the inspector general of training and evaluation (IGTE) of the Pakistan Army and nominee of the board’s chairman Lt Gen Sher Afgun. Other members including the Numl Rector retired Maj Gen Mohammad Jaffar, General Headquarters Director General (HRD) Maj Gen Nayyer Naseer, Numl Director General Brig Mohammad Badr Malik attended the meeting.

Members were briefed about academic activities, development projects, research and international collaborations.

Board members lauded rapid growth of the university in terms of academics, research and infrastructure, the statement said, adding important decisions related to budget, human resource and welfare were taken during the meeting.
