LAHORE: A rickshaw driver died after he was badly tortured by a man over a minor issue in Hanjarwal on Sunday.

Police said Mohammad Hanif, 45, had a quarrel with a passerby, Zeeshan.

They said both exchanged harsh words following which Zeeshan subjected Hanif to brutal torture with an iron rod, and fled the scene leaving the rickshaw driver critically injured.

The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a murder case against Zeeshan.
