Because of Covid-19 the operations of the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi (BSEK) have remained suspended since mid-March. This includes the document verification section, which is of utmost importance these days. As students these days are applying for admissions to educational institutions abroad, they want their documents to be verified by their local boards.
Institutions such as the Higher Education Commission (HEC), IBCC and the ministry of foreign affairs have introduced online/postal facility for students as the walk-in facility has been suspended since March.
But, unfortunately, the BSEK has done nothing to facilitate students for document verification. Students in Karachi are in a state of anxiety because of the mishandling of the situation by the BSEK.
I urge the authorities and the chairman of the BSEK to take necessary steps on priority so that students could have verified documents.
