HARIPUR: Four police officials, including two SHOs, were injured when three men opened fire on a police party late on Wednesday night.

Saddar police said the suspected attackers had been arrested. They said the injured, includding lady constable were admitted to Trauma Centre.

They said that a police party comprising SHO Saddar Shafiq Khan, SHO Khalabat Township Sajid Nawaz, ASI Amir, constable Arshad and lady constable Sanam Nawaz raided the house of one Amjad Hussain of Sera-i-Nehmat Khan village to arrest him as he was wanted to police.

The officials said the accused and his accomplices opened fire at the police party, leaving four of its members injured.

The police have registered a criminal case under sections 324 and 353/34 against Amjad Hussain Shah, Hussain Haider Shah and Syed Bahar Ali Shah and arrested them all.

KILLED: One motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in Haripur on Thursday.

According to police, the accident occurred near the district secretariat when a speeding Hiace (LES 3210) hit a motorcycle leaving its two riders critically injured.

The injured identified as Taimur Khan Qureshi and Adil Khan were shifted to the Haripur Trauma Centre.

However, Taimur succumbed to his injuries.
