The use of mobile phones is abundant and most people find it stressful to hold or talk on the mobile sets for longer, either for watching a video or talking to someone. Considering the need of people, there are various kinds of mobile stands available in the market, some very fancy ones and some very handy, but all at a price.

So today we will make one out of Popsicle sticks, which will be very stylish and easy on the pocket. And believe me friends, this mobile stand will stand out from the rest of the stands because it looks just like an old TV set.

Things you need:

  1. Popsicle sticks 10-coloured and 10 plain (use the bigger ones, the quantity of the sticks depends on the size of the mobile you are making the stand of).

  2. White glue and hot glue

  3. Scissors

Directions:

  1. Align coloured sticks, I have used 10, picture 2.

  2. Stick them together by using the plain sticks just like I have done in picture 3.

  3. Cut the rounded part of the sticks from the top and the bottom, picture 4.

  4. You now have a perfect rectangle, measure the mobile, by placing it horizontally in the middle of the sticks, pictures 5 and 6.

  5. We will be pasting plain sticks on top and the bottom of the mobile, these sticks will work as ‘holders or panels’ for the mobile, picture 7.

  6. To make two holders, paste together at least four sticks for each holder, (this again depends on the thickness of the mobile you are making stand of), picture 8.

  7. Paste these panels/holders on top and bottom of the stand, picture 9. See the thickness, this is where the mobile will sit.

  8. Cover the sides with just the single sticks on top of each panel, picture 10.

  9. Cut the access sticks by giving them circular shape, see picture 11.

  10. To make the legs of the stand, cut 1.5 inches of sticks diagonally from the top, picture 12.

  11. Using two pieces for one leg, cut eight such pieces, sticking two together making four altogether; see picture 13 and 14.

  12. Paste them with the hot glue at the bottom of the mobile stand, picture 15 and 16.

  13. To make the antenna cut two similar diagonal pieces like you did for the legs of the stand and paste them on top of the stand, (but this is optional) Viola, this cute vintage TV-shaped mobile stand is ready, enjoy!
