Sindh Minister for Irrigation, Zakat & Ushr, Auqaf Sohail Anwar Siyal accused the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of running a trial against his "father's grave" after an alleged raid by the bureau's officials at his house in Larkana.

Siyal said that the house belonged to his late father and was declared with the Federal Board of Revenue.

"NAB is now using revenge tactics," he claimed.

The provincial minister is facing a case pertaining to assets beyond known means. In his statement today, he said NAB had informed the accountability court that investigation against him began in 2019, while his father had passed away before that time.

"NAB's action is a trial against my father's grave," he declared.

There was no official statement by NAB regarding the raid. But according to media reports, a team had searched Siyal's house for several hours and had taken important documents into custody.

Last year, NAB's Sukkur chapter sought details of assets belonging to the family members and certain close relatives of Siyal from the departments/organisations concerned in an inquiry into alleged misappropriation of over Rs50 million from the provincial kitty.
