TAXILA: The police on Saturday arrested a 15-year-old boy for allegedly sexually assaulting and murdering a three-year-old in Nartopa village.

The incident took place in the limits of the Hazro police.

The child’s father, who lives in Peerabad, told police that his three-year-old son went outside to play on Aug 20 and then disappeared.

Police arrested a 15-year-old teenager who lived on the same street, who confessed during interrogation that he abducted the child and sexually assaulted him.

He told police he then strangled the child and buried the body near his home.

He allegedly assaulted and murdered the child to take revenge on the child’s father, who he alleged tried to sexually assault him, Hazro circle Sub-Divisional Police Officer Aslam Dogar said.

The police recovered the child’s body and took the body to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy, which confirmed the suspect’s statement.

Mr Dogar said a case has been registered against the suspect for abduction, sexual assault and murder.
