PESHAWAR: Four people including two children were killed and another one injured in traffic accident in Mulkhow area of Upper Chitral on Saturday evening.

An official of Mulkhow police station said that the incident took place near Werkhup village, when a Suzuki jeep plunged into the river while on way to Turkhow area. He said that the family of Upper Chitral Press Club chief and renowned poet Zakir Mohammad Zakhmi was travelling in the vehicle.

The wife and two minor children of Mr Zakhmi and the driver were among the dead while his brother Sharafuddin was injured in the accident.

The official said that locals recovered the dead bodies of Mr Zakhmi’s wife and daughter from the river, while search was on for dead bodies of his minor son and driver.
