RAWALPINDI: A policeman was suspended after he allegedly quarrelled with hospital staff at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) over his brother’s death. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated against him.

Constable Mohammad Irfan, posted in Murree visited RIC with his brother Mohammad Imran, who suffered a heart attack and later passed away at the hospital. Constable Irfan allegedly started quarelling with the nursing staff after his brother’s death, however, the issue was settled after intervention of senior staff members and security guards, police said.

City Police Officer Mohammad Ahsan Younis, taking notice of the constable’s behaviour, ordered his suspension and directed him to report to Police Lines Headquarters. Police are a disciplined force and such behaviour from a police official cannot be tolerated, he added.
