As many as 2,096 officers and personnel of the Sindh Police have been infected with the new coronavirus to date, with 171 infections being reported during the last two days, according to a police spokesperson.
A statement said at least 16 policemen have lost their lives while performing duties to fight the virus.
Of the total personnel infected, 496 have recovered from the disease.
