NAWABSHAH: A couple lost their two children and descended into a critical condition along with their third child apparently due to food poisoning in a locality known as Jam Saheb Road in Nawabshah on Wednesday.

Faizan Arain, his wife Rukhsana Arain, and their three children — Zara, 8, Rubab, 4, and eight-month-old baby boy Shahzain — were rushed to the Peoples Medical University Hospital (PMUH), Nawabshah, in a critical condition and were provided emergency treatment for food poisoning. Zara and Shahzain died during treatment while the couple and their four-year-old daughter Rubab were fighting for life when the last reports were received in the evening. Doctors at the PMUH described their condition as precarious.

Area police believed that some toxic material accidentally got mixed in the meals prepared at home, which might have led to food poisoning.
