LAHORE: Former Supreme Court judge retired Justice Faqir Mohammad Khokhar, in his capacity as an independent adjudicator, will hear the appeal of discarded Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal against a three-year ban at the National High Performance Centre here on July 13.

Notices for the hearing have been issued to Umar and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The hearing was previously scheduled for June 11 but was postponed due to the Covid-19-enforced lockdowns in the city.

Umar was banned for three years from all types of cricket on April 27 in two cases registered against him under the Anti-corruption Code of the PCB, for not informing the PCB immediately after some suspected persons met him at two different occasions ahead of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League.
