Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho has written a letter to the provincial assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and urged him to issue an advisory barring lawmakers of age 55 or above from attending sessions.

"Sir, elderly people due to their increased immunity and people with multiple associated comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease are at a higher risk of Covid-19 infection," the letter said.

"In view of above, it is requested that respected members over age 55 and members having comorbidities may be advised not to attend provincial assembly sessions owing to their higher risk of infection," she wrote.

She also requested Durrani to issue an advisory on wearing face masks during provincial assembly sessions.
