Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho has warned that the province's hospitals would face a shortage of beds and ventilators and the situation could become worse where patients would not be able to acquire a bed in hospitals as had happened in several European countries.

While speaking in the Sindh Assembly, she said the coronavirus situation in the province was getting worse to the extent that now, Covid-19 cases seem to be popping up from every household.

“This happened only due to one person who had declared that ‘corona se darna nahi larna hai’ (Don’t be afraid of the coronavirus, fight it),” she said in a reference to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s initial response to the pandemic.
