PML-N member of the provincial assembly (MPA) from Wazirabad, Punjab, Shaukat Manzoor Cheema has passed away from coronavirus, MPA Bilal Farooq Tarar and a source at Pakistan Kidney And Liver Institute (PKLI) confirmed.

The 66-year-old MPA had recently tested positive for the coronavirus and was undergoing treatment at the PKLI, Lahore.

PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief on the passing away of the MPA and said that Cheema was an "important asset of the party and his services were unforgettable".
