Information minister Shibli Faraz has said that the government was looking towards outsourcing airports in an effort to elevate them to international standards.

Briefing the media on the decisions taken during today's cabinet meeting, he said: "One of the items on the agenda today was airports. We discussed whether we should outsource our airports so that we can bring our airports up to international standards.

"We were told that some were interested but legally we still have several things to look at. So June 30 is the deadline to clarify the legal framework [for this]."
