Information minister Shibli Faraz urged the opposition to refrain from politicising the pandemic, adding that the Supreme Court's decision is proof of the fact that the government's plan of action for tackling the outbreak has been correct.
"Prime Minister Imran Khan has been concerned with helping the poor from the start, it was always about helping the poor sustain themselves through the virus."
He added that the top court's decision was a reflection of the PM's approach. "We have to ensure that the economic activities of the poor aren't disrupted. We have to make sure people don't die of hunger."
