The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has allowed barber shops and salons in the province to open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays till 4:00pm with immediate effect.

According to the notification issued by the provincial relief and rehabilitation department, businesses will be allowed to open under the following conditions;

  • Essentials services which can't be managed at home such as haircuts shall be admissible at barber shops; face shaving shall be discouraged

  • Facilities for washing one's hands with soap or sanitiser must be provided; barbers, salon staff and beauticians must wash their hands with soap before giving a person a haircut

  • Barbers and salon staff, including beauticians and customers, shall wear face masks

  • Overcrowding shall be avoided by providing services to customers through appointments only; one customer at a time shall be allowed, while hand shakes and hugging shall be avoided

  • The above conditions must be displayed prominently at conspicuous places within salons and barber shops
