GUJAR KHAN: A transgender person was murdered on Saturday in the Rohtas Fort area, near Dina city.

According to details, the victim, identified as Hassan alias Heerawas, resident of Rathiaan, was brutally murdered by unknown persons and his body was later thrown into a well. Rescue 1122 shifted the body to District Headquarters Hospital

Jhelum, where members of the transgender community had gathered to protest against the deceased’s murder.

The medico-legal report stated that Hassan was killed by strikes from a heavy object.

His body was handed over to the heirs after postmortem.

Police have registered a case against the unknown persons, under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and started investigation.
