TAXILA: Two more patients tested positive in Attock raising the tally in the district to 49 while one positive case was reported in Taxila which already had 33 confirmed patients.Among the new cases in Attock is a 61-year-old man from Ghorghusti village of Hazro where a coronavirus patient had died on April 13.

The second positive case is a medic working at the tehsil headquarters hospital of Fatehjang.

According to district focal person on Covid-19 Dr Asif Arbab Niazi, the number of suspected cases increased to 899 while screening of 3,206 persons has been carried till Saturday. He said results of 124 suspects were awaited.

He said at present eight positive patients were under treatment in hospitals - four in the district headquarters hospital, two in the THQ hospital Hassanabdal, one each in the THQ hospital Jand and a private hospital in Islamabad. Besides, 24 people were at quarantine centres.

He said all the positive cases were in stable condition.

In Taxila, another person also tested positive, raising the tally to 34.

According to the health department, four people, including three women, have died of Covid-19 in the Taxila teshil.
