SUKKUR: A special bench of the Sindh High Court at Sukkur has fixed April 22 for issuing its order on the bail application filed by former leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah.

Mr Shah, along with 18 co-accused, including his family members and associates, is facing charges of having accumulated assets beyond his known sources of income levelled in a NAB reference.

The bench heard the prosecution and defence counsel before reserving its order on April 14. On Friday, notices were issued to the accused and respondents informing him that the order would be pronounced on April 22.

Mr Shah has been on judicial remand for several months and undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Sukkur.

The reference was filed some seven months ago after NAB completed its investigation into accumulation of Rs1.23 billion by Mr Shah and the co-accused.
